(Girls) Would this bother you?

Ok, I asked a girl to be my girlfriend this morning over text. The reason I did it over tet is because I was not sure if I would see her today in person. I ended up seeing her and she seemed okay with it, but one of her friends said I should have asked her in person. I also agree with that, but I did not want to lose my chance if I hadnt of seen her at school today. So, what Im asking is would this bother you girls? Or is it just something that you could get over and be happy with the relation ship? Please answer. Also, is there anything I can say to let her know that I really wanted to ask her in person? One more thing, if it helps any, I am a sophmore and she is a freshman. Thanks to all who answer.
