Can I Still Get Autographs In The Offseason?

I have gotten back into collectiong sports memorabilia, especially baseball, and as all of you hopefully know it is baseball's offseason. If I send a letter asking for autograph and send it to the teams address like you are supposed to do, will it get to the player? Or do I have to wait untill baseball season?
